There’s an open-air market on most days of the week here, and one of them is the largest in the southeastern United States. If you’re self-catering with us, a Saturday or Tuesday morning at a market is a better way to stock the kitchen than a supermarket run — and a better morning out.
Read This First: Seasons Matter
Almost every market here has a winter season and a summer season, and several change location or hours between them. Broadly:
- October to May is the main season — more vendors, longer hours, better produce, pleasant weather.
- June to September is reduced — shorter hours, fewer vendors, and some markets move to a smaller or shadier site.
The two most important examples: the St. Pete Saturday Morning Market moves from Al Lang Stadium to Williams Park for the summer, and the Dunedin market moves from Pioneer Park to the Dunedin History Center from July to September, with hours shortening from 9am–2pm to 9am–1pm.

🥇 St. Pete Saturday Morning Market — the big one
Al Lang Stadium parking lot, 230 1st St SE, St. Petersburg. Saturdays from 9am.
Billed as the largest outdoor fresh market in the southeastern United States, with over 125 vendors each week. Farm produce, flowers, plants, gourmet foods and artisan crafts, plus live music and a genuinely good spread of international street food with plenty of seating to eat it.
It’s a weekend institution for locals as much as visitors, it’s dog-friendly, and it’s right on the downtown waterfront — so you can pair it with the Dalí, the pier, or a coffee on Beach Drive.
Summer note: from around June through August it relocates to Williams Park. Smaller, but still running.

🥈 Dunedin Downtown Market — the nicest morning
Pioneer Park, around 420 Main St, Dunedin. Saturdays 9am–2pm, November to June.
Over 50 vendors — local farmers, plants, baked goods, artisan foods, ready-to-eat lunch, handcrafts, bath and body. Live music, dog-friendly, and free parking nearby.
What makes this the best morning out rather than just the best market is where it is: downtown Dunedin, with eight breweries, a distillery and the Pinellas Trail all within a few blocks. Market, lunch, then a brewery, and ride the trail home.
Summer note: July to September it moves to the Dunedin History Center at around 349 Main St, running 9am–1pm.

🥉 Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market — the year-round one
Beach Blvd S, downtown Gulfport. Tuesdays.
One of the only year-round open-air markets in Tampa Bay, which makes it the reliable answer whatever month you’re here. Fresh produce, local art, and a stroll along one of the most characterful waterfront main streets in the county.
Hours shift with the season: summer hours of 9am–2pm start in early June; the regular 9am–3pm resumes towards the end of September.
Gulfport itself is worth the trip — a small artsy waterfront town that feels nothing like the beaches.

🏖️ Mid-Week Madeira Beach Market
Madeira Way, between Gulf Blvd and the Tom Stuart Causeway. The city’s first market and one of the area’s largest, with the distinction that all vendors are local, hands-on owner-operators — no resellers. Closest market to our Seminole place.
🌅 Indian Shores Sunday Morning Market
Gulf Blvd, Indian Shores. A small beach-side Sunday market a few minutes from our Largo place — the easy one to walk or cycle to.

🌃 Largo Evening Market
Ulmer Park, 301 W Bay Dr, Largo. Fourth Saturday of the month, 5pm–9pm. An evening market rather than a morning one — makers, artisans and small businesses, and much more pleasant than a midday market in summer. Worth checking the date against your stay.
🛍️ Pinellas Farmers & Flea Market
13600A Icot Blvd, Clearwater. Saturdays and Sundays, early morning to early afternoon. More flea than farm, and the only one running both weekend days. Good for browsing rather than produce.
Worth the Drive
- Safety Harbor Market on Main — 401 Main St, Sundays 10am to 3pm. Small, friendly, and in one of the county’s nicest small downtowns. Pairs with the Ream Wilson Trail and two breweries. Our Ream Wilson guide
- Corey Avenue Sunday Market — 300 Corey Ave, St Pete Beach. Over 70 vendors along Corey Avenue: coffee, pastries, arts, kombucha, fresh fruit. A pleasant way to spend a Sunday on the beach side.
- Lealman Farmers Market — 5175 45th St N, first Sunday of the month, October to May, 10am to 2pm. Newer, community-focused.
- Old Palm Harbor Community Farmers Market — in the small historic downtown, and easy to fold into a north-county day.
Practical Tips
🌡️ Go Early, Especially in Summer
Most markets open at 9am and the first hour is the best of it — coolest, best selection, easiest parking. By midday in July an open-air market is hard work.
💵 Bring Cash and Bags
Many vendors take cards now, but small producers often don’t, or have a minimum. Bring reusable bags and, if you’re buying produce for the week, a cooler bag for the car.
🐕 Dogs Are Welcome
These markets are notably dog-friendly — Dunedin and St. Pete both explicitly so. Take water, and mind hot pavement in summer.
🍳 Self-Catering With Us?
This is the practical case for the page. A Saturday at Dunedin or St. Pete will get you produce, bread, eggs, cheese, coffee and something for that night’s dinner in one stop — better than the supermarket and considerably more fun. Both our places have full kitchens and a grill.
🎵 Some Are Really Events
St. Pete and Dunedin both have live music and enough prepared food to make lunch of it. Treat those two as a morning out rather than an errand.
📅 Check the Date, Not Just the Day
Largo is monthly, Lealman is monthly and seasonal, and several markets skip holiday weekends. A quick look at the market’s own page saves a wasted trip.

From Our Rentals
Our Largo rental (1731 Clearwater Harbor Dr): Indian Shores is a few minutes south, Largo Evening Market about ten minutes inland, and Madeira Beach roughly fifteen. Dunedin is about half an hour north.
Our Seminole rental (13189 87th Ave N): Madeira Beach is closest, with Corey Avenue and Gulfport both a short drive south.
St. Pete’s Saturday market is around thirty minutes from either — and worth the drive.
